In Norse mythology, Thor is the god of thunder and lightning, a figure of raw strength whose power rolls across the sky with every storm. He also watches over sacred groves and trees, blesses and hallows, and brings fertility to the land. He is the son of Odin, the All-Father, and Jörð, the Earth itself given form, and he stands as the mightiest of the Æsir, the ruling family of the gods.

As Asgard's champion, Thor guards both the realm of the gods and Midgard, the world of mortals, against the jötnar, the ancient giants of Jötunheimr who forever threaten the order of the Nine Realms. His name echoed across the Germanic world: the Anglo-Saxons called him Þunor, and the old German tribes knew him as Donar. Every version traces back to one ancient root, Þunraz, which simply means "thunder."

Two small fixes along the way: "Ojdin" is now Odin, and I described the jötnar as "ancient giants" rather than "ice giants." In the myths they're a wider race that includes fire and mountain giants, not only frost giants. If this is for a miniature listing, I can also write a shorter punchier version or one that leads into the sculpt itself.
