DeathRattle arrives in December

Heroes are easy to find. They walk through dragonfire unmarked and sleep off wounds that would kill a soldier twice over. Given enough experience, enough treasure, enough time, their victory stops being a question and becomes a formality.

Death Rattle is not that game.

Built for the modern d20 ruleset, Death Rattle is a grim fantasy sourcebook that trades heroic certainty for something harder-edged. Every battle carries a cost. Every spell asks something of the caster. Victory here isn't measured by how cleanly it's won. It's measured by what it took to win it.

Five lineages and eight rebuilt classes, each fitted to a harsher world. Spell slots are gone; every cast is a choice with a price attached. Grievous Injuries mean violence is never a free action, and encounters aren't balanced around your party surviving them. Retreat, negotiation, and a good lie are as valid as a sword.

This isn't a game about saving the world. It's about saving what remains. A shrine buried under a village nobody visits. A plague working through a town too small to matter to anyone but itself. A forest that's a little bigger every year than it was the year before.

Not demigods. Not chosen ones. People who pick up a lantern and walk into the dark, knowing it might be the last light they ever carry.

Death Rattle launches this December in MMF Tribes.
